Editorial Policy

How we research, write and stay independent.

Eavescroft exists to help homeowners understand and care for the exterior of their homes. This policy describes how we work.

Independence

We are not a contractor, cleaning company, retailer or lead-generation service. We do not sell services or products, accept payment for coverage, or place "hire us" calls to action in our content. Any commercial links, if present, are added deliberately by the site owner and do not influence our editorial judgement.

Accuracy and caution

  • We do not invent statistics, standards, certifications or professional credentials.
  • Where an outcome depends on the specific home, region, material or climate, we say so rather than offering a false universal figure.
  • We describe cost as a set of factors that move a price, not as a precise quote.
  • We prefer plain language and direct answers over padding written for search engines.

Safety

We flag tasks that involve working at height, roof access, ladders in difficult conditions, or high-pressure equipment. When safe access, training or suitable equipment may be lacking, we recommend a qualified professional rather than describing risky steps.

Sources and images

Where we reference external guidance, we point to reputable resources such as government, safety and manufacturer materials. Photographs are used under licenses that permit this use, from sources such as Unsplash, Pexels and Pixabay.

Dates and updates

Articles show their original publication date only. We may refine articles over time, but we do not stamp them with modification dates or automatically changing dates.

Corrections

If you spot an error, email [email protected]. We correct confirmed factual mistakes promptly.
