Why we point you to professionals

Much of what we describe — clearing gutters at height, inspecting a roof edge, checking a chimney, or using pressure equipment — sits close to real hazards. Our guidance is written for safe, ground-level observation, and we deliberately stop short of step-by-step instructions for dangerous work. That isn't caution for its own sake: a fall from a ladder, or water driven behind siding by too much pressure, can cost far more than the job itself.
